Residential Home for Young Adults

The project seeks to create a safe frame for youths with mental and physical disabilities who are moving into their first home, away from their parents. In addition to the care home apartments, five "standard" apartments were to be independently placed on the top floor.

An important part of the assignment was to create spaces that could be both stimulate and calming for the residents. We wanted a care home with a strong identity that didn’t feel like an institution. Spacious common areas, semi-private nooks, the use of colors and the central garden became important elements to achieve this goal.
